Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and August Fog Studios LLC, a California limited liability company (“Infill”, “we”, “us”), for using Infill at infill.build. By creating an account or using Infill, you agree to them.

The service

Infill lets your coding agent design parts for 3D printing, shows every version in your browser where you can adjust it, and exports it for your slicer. These terms cover the hosted service at infill.build. Infill's source code is published separately under the GNU Affero General Public License; that license, not these terms, governs the code itself, including copies you run yourself.

Your account

  • You must be at least 13 to use Infill. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
  • Give us accurate information, keep your password safe, and tell us if someone else gets into your account.
  • You're responsible for what happens in your account, including what a coding agent you connect does there.

Your designs

As between you and us, you own what you make in Infill, to the extent it can be owned. You give us permission to store, process, render and export it to run Infill for you. You're responsible for having the rights to anything you upload or ask your agent to create.

You also give us permission to use your designs and the record of what you and your agent do in Infill to operate, improve and develop Infill, including to train and improve AI models. This permission is worldwide, royalty-free and continues after you delete your designs or account for anything we've already built with them, such as trained models; otherwise it ends when you delete them, apart from copies in backups until they're replaced. We won't sell your private designs or publish them. If you don't want your designs used this way, you can run Infill yourself: it's open source, and a copy you host sends nothing to us.

Printed parts

Infill helps you design parts and checks things like wall thickness, overhangs and fits for your printer. Those checks are aids, not guarantees. Whether a part fits, holds or is safe depends on many things Infill can't see, such as your printer, material and settings, and how the part is used. Check your parts before relying on them, and don't use Infill for parts whose failure could hurt someone, such as safety equipment, medical devices or anything that carries a person's weight.

Coding agents

Infill works with coding agents that you choose and connect, such as Claude Code or Codex. They're provided by other companies under their own terms, and we're not responsible for what they do. An agent can make mistakes: review its changes before you print.

Acceptable use

Don't use Infill to:

  • break the law or infringe anyone's rights, including copyrights, patents and trademarks;
  • design firearms, firearm parts or other weapons;
  • attack, overload or probe the service, or get around its limits or security;
  • access other people's accounts or data;
  • resell or offer the hosted service to others without our permission.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Copyright complaints

If you believe something stored in Infill infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with a description of the work, where it is in Infill, your contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized. We'll respond promptly and may remove the material.

If we remove something of yours, we'll tell you, and you can send a counter-notice to the same address if you believe it was removed by mistake. We close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe others' copyrights.

Our name and logo

The open source license covers Infill's code, not its name or logo. Please don't use them in a way that suggests your project or service is Infill or is endorsed by us.

Price

Infill is in early testing and free to use for a limited time. We reserve the right to charge for Infill in the future, for example through paid plans or limits on free use. We'll tell you before any charges or new limits apply, and you won't be charged without agreeing to it.

Changes and ending

We're improving Infill all the time and may change or remove features. You can stop using Infill at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law or security prevents it. If we ever shut Infill down, we'll give you notice and time to export your designs.

Disclaimer

Infill is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability and non-infringement. We don't warrant that Infill, its checks or anything it produces will be accurate, error-free or suitable for any use.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from Infill or parts made with it. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of your content, your use of Infill or parts made from your designs, or a breach of these terms, you'll cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Disputes will be decided by the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We'll update the date at the top when these terms change. For important changes we'll tell signed-in users before they take effect. If you keep using Infill after that, the new terms apply.
